He graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Faculty of Education in 1998. He received his master’s degree in 2003 and his PhD in 2006 from Dokuz Eylul University, Institute of Educational Sciences. In his master’s thesis he focused on Materials Development and in his doctoral dissertation he worked on Computer Assited Learning Environment in Abstract Concept Teaching. He has done post-doctoral study in the UK in 2010 on Computer Animation sponsored by TUBİTAK. Between 2003 and 2018, he conducted many studies internationally on teaching technologies, science teaching, computer animations, virtual reality, three-dimensional design and printing technologies, mobile learning, inquiry based learning, argumentation based learning, metacognition, and technology integration. He also served as co-chairman of the international ITTES symposium organizing committee and was invited as keynote speaker in international conferences. He has been involved in many TUBITAK and BAP projects as researcher and trainer. In 2017, he worked as the project coordinator of European Union Project EDUCODE, and in 2018, he worked as the project coordinator of TÜBİTAK 4005 Technologically Enhanced Scientific Reasoning Applications (TAYBU), and as trainer in another TUBİTAK 4005 project.
