Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bilal Özbek, a faculty member in the Department of Special Education, Division of Education for the Intellectually Disabled, served as a visiting researcher at the Department of Teacher Education, University of Jyväskylä, Finland, from May 2022 to May 2023, within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2219 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program. Together with Prof. Dr. Minna Torppa, he developed a mobile application aimed at supporting early literacy skills through gamified activities. They completed the demo version of the product, followed by the development of version 1.0. The initial experimental study based on the application has been published (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10639-025-13599-1). Dr. Torppa and Dr. Özbek continue their collaboration on new experimental studies and efforts to promote the widespread use of the mobile application.
