Dean’s Message


Dear Prospective Teachers, welcome to the family of Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Faculty of Education! You have taken one of the most important steps in your life’s journey. The decision you made today will not only shape your own future but will also influence the horizons, dreams, and lives of thousands of students tomorrow. Guided by knowledge and conscience, you are the ones who will carry light into darkness and sow seeds of hope. Our great leader, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, expressed the essence of this journey in his words: “The development and rise of a nation is possible only through education.” You are the young generation, carrying the responsibility of shaping the future of our country, and candidates to be the architects of this progress. For 65 years, our faculty has proudly trained countless teachers, academics, and educational leaders. As part of a research university, our goal is not only to transfer knowledge but also to produce it, to question, and to raise innovative individuals. Our green, peaceful, and inspiring campus supports your academic growth while also offering a unique environment enriched with social and cultural opportunities. The years you spend here will not be limited to lectures and exams. You will become individuals who question, research, produce, embrace diversity, and internalize the core values of teaching such as justice, patience, curiosity, and determination alongside professional knowledge. Today, it is not only important to access information, but also to interpret it correctly, to filter it critically, and to integrate technology as an essential part of education.
