The Department of Chemistry Education was established in 1982 under the Law No. 2547 as a Department of Science Education. Since 1995, it has been continuing its activities as Department of Chemistry Education. Our department, which provides five-years education, continues its educational process by being transformed into a four-years program for 8 semesters in 2014-2015 academic year. In 2017, the department was renamed as Department of Mathematics and Science Education. Our department continues its activities under the name of this department. The Department of Chemistry Education was established to train chemistry teachers in public and private secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. In the program, field courses, field training courses and teaching profession knowledge courses are taught. In addition, the Master of Science Program with thesis is carried out in Dokuz Eylül University Institute of Educational Sciences.
