Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies, affiliated with Dokuz Eylül University Buca Faculty of Education, was established in 1997 to train information technologies teachers. Our department, which started providing education in the 1998-1999 academic year, has been implementing a formal education program since its establishment. In addition to the 4-year undergraduate education, graduate education is also carried out under the Institute of Educational Sciences. The language of instruction for all undergraduate and graduate Computer and Instructional Technologies programs is Turkish.
The education program of our department aims to train information technology teachers with the capacity and skills to educate future generations in line with the needs and requirements of both our country and the age. In addition to strengthening students’ professional knowledge and experience, our department also attaches importance to directing students to sports, arts, communication and cultural activities that support their personal development and improve their creativity and social relations.

Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies, with its 4-year undergraduate program based on contemporary approaches in teacher training; It aims to train qualified teachers who are aware of contemporary measurement-evaluation approaches, who can organize teaching activities in line with technological developments, who can use different teaching methods and strategies in teaching processes, and who can follow the studies in their field. Within the framework of this purpose, the department program includes courses to ensure the professional development of students as well as field knowledge and general culture.
Since 2010, the BOLOGNA Process (European Higher Education Area harmonization studies) has started, which allows citizens of countries within the European Higher Education Area to easily move around Europe in order to receive higher education or work.

The Department aims to increase knowledge and experience by supporting student and academic exchange through bilateral agreements with quality institutions with international reputation. As of 2012, the Department has bilateral agreements within the scope of the ERASMUS Student and Academician Exchange Program.
Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies operates in the Hasan Ali Yücel Building and has 1 classroom, 5 laboratories and 9 academic staff. The laboratories have multimedia tools such as smart boards, projectors and computers. There is also a library within the faculty that department students can benefit from.
Additionally, there is an Instructional Technologies R&D Laboratory within the faculty that our students can benefit from. This laboratory includes virtual reality glasses, three-dimensional printing technologies, holograms and robotic tools.
